Explore Lucky Peak State Park and Arrowrock Reservoir

Just a short drive from downtown Boise, you'll find two of southwest Idaho's favorite outdoor destinations: Lucky Peak State Park and Arrowrock Reservoir. While these two destinations are well worth a visit on their own, together, these neighboring recreation areas make an ideal day trip or weekend getaway.

Here are some of our favorite ways to spend the day at Lucky Peak State Park and Arrowrock Reservoir.

Cool Off at Lucky Peak State Park

Located along the Boise River, Lucky Peak State Park is one of the Treasure Valley's most popular summer destinations. The park is divided into three separate recreation areas, each offering its own unique experience.

No trip to the reservoir is complete without stopping to admire Arrowrock Dam. Completed in 1915, it was once the tallest concrete arch dam in the world and played a major role in transforming Idaho agriculture by providing reliable irrigation water throughout the Treasure Valley.
